Long Division - Unite and Conquer

Posted by vibrations on 23-05-16

Long Division has been hitting it out of the park for local and left of centre music for five years now, and 2016 is looking to be no different - local bands ranging from the highly danceable Galaxians to the hardly dancey at all but undeniably fantatstic Dancing Years rub shoulders with the likes of almost/previously local band Her Name Is Calla and the Anstruther massive that is Pictish Trail. Actually, there's a lot of stuff in there that makes you go 'ooh, that's interesting' - Juffage, Napoleon IIIrd, NARCS, Allusondrugs, Forever Cult, bis, Field Music, Fizzy Blood... I don't want to go through the line up, that's for you to check out, but I challenge you not to find something that will make you brave the wilds of Wakefield (and there are a few nice hostelries you can stumble into on your journies to help seal the deal... refreshingly reasonably priced compared to the 'how much?' effect you get in most Leeds bars now too) - if you haven't done it yet, give it a go!

Not only but also, the good people of Long Division and Rhubarb Bomb have released an album of music from the featured artists to raise finds for Cancer Research, so even if you can't make it, you can get a taste and make a difference.
